Here you will find art, comics and sketchbook work that I’ve made about my experience of chronic illness/ pain.
I have ME (aka CFS), Fibromyalgia and POTS (Postural Tachycardia Syndrome/ Disautonomia). I’m currently trying to find ways of continuing to work in light of these disabling health limitations, thus some of the work is drawn with my non-dominant hand in an attempt to spread the load!
Gathering the work together is my ‘visibility action’ for the #MillionsMissing campaign - a global protest connected to ME Action Network, on May 12th (ME Awareness Day) to call for health equality, justice and greater funding for biomedical research into ME. Medical neglect of this illness is a human rights issue.
I’m making this work free to view in the hope that if you appreciate it you will make a small donation to my Justgiving page, where I’m raising money for the ME Association, a UK charity that not only supports ME sufferers but also funds biomedical research. Empathy through art is all well and good, but even better if it leads to positive action. Thank you for looking - and do share!
